Public Transport

Getting around Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires boasts an efficient and affordable public transportation system, making it easy to navigate the city. The subte (subway), colectivos (city buses), and trains all run on a single rechargeable card, the SUBE, which can be purchased and topped up at kiosks and subte stations across the city.

How to get to the conference from the city centre (Obelisco)

The Facultad de Derecho is the northern terminus of Subte Línea H, so it is a single-transfer trip from downtown. Take Línea H at the 9 de Julio station - right under the Obelisco, on Línea D - and ride toward Congreso de Tucumán. Get off at Pueyrredón and change, free of charge with the same SUBE fare, to Línea H at the connecting Santa Fe - Carlos Jáuregui station. From there it is just two stops to the final station, Facultad de Derecho, which opens directly onto Av. Figueroa Alcorta, steps from the venue. The full trip takes about 20–25 minutes.

Coming from Palermo or the northern neighbourhoods

The Facultad de Derecho sits right on the edge of Palermo and Recoleta, so this is a short trip. From Plaza Italia or nearby Palermo stations, take Línea D toward Catedral (southbound) to Pueyrredón, then change to Línea H toward Facultad de Derecho (two stops). Depending on where you are staying in Palermo, it can also be a comfortable 20–30 minute walk or short bus ride along Av. del Libertador or Av. Figueroa Alcorta.

Colectivos (city buses)

Bus lines 17, 67, 93 and 130 stop right at the door of the Facultad de Derecho. Lines 41, 59, 60, 102 and 118 stop a short walk away, along Av. Las Heras. As with the subte, fares are paid with the SUBE card.

Taxis, Uber, Cabify

While we encourage conference attendees to use more ecological means of transport, a full range of taxi and ride-hailing services are available. Please see the information desk for local taxi contacts and estimated fares.
